Create Database Mailbox For Exchange 2013

In this section, we will explain how to create mailbox database in microsoft exchange 2013 in to way. You need to be assigned permissions before you can run this cmdlet. Although all parameters for this cmdlet are listed in this topic, you may not have access to some parameters if they're not included in the permissions assigned to you.

1. Using Exchange Control Panel (ECP)

    Open Exchange Admin Center
Mailbox Database
- on Servers menu, select databases tab and click +, insert name of mailbox databases and then select mailbox database server
Add copy database
- Don't forget to set file path of mailbox database, check "Mount this database"

- Restart Microsoft Exchange Information Store Service. Open Services.msc

2. Using Windows Powershell

Most administrators want to remove the default database which is created during the initial Exchange Server installation. It is convenient to do so as you can later on create your own following your desired naming policies. It can be troublesome to remove it, but it is easy if you follow some simple steps. Once you have finished installing Exchange Server 2013, ensure that all services are up and running by opening Exchange Management Shell (Run as Administrator) and then type:

New-MailboxDatabase -Name "Mail05" -EdbFilePath "E:\Program Files\Microsoft\V15\Mail05\mail05.edb"
